 אֲבִינֵר proper name, masculine ( my father is Nêr, or is a lamp compare 2 Samuel 21:17; accusative to Lag BN 75 = אֲבֶן (= בֶּן) + נֵר = son of Ner; compare ᵐ5 Ἀβεννηρ) — so only 1 Samuel 14:50, elsewhere אַבְנֵר — cousin of Saul, and captain of his host 1 Samuel 14:50,51; 1 Samuel 17:55 (3t. in verse) + 52t. 1 & 2Samuel; + 1 Kings 2:5,32; 1 Chronicles 26:28; 1 Chronicles 27:21.
