קֹדֶשׁ once קוֹדֶשׁ Daniel 11:30 with suff. קָדְשִׁי plur. קָֽדָשִׁים (kǒdגdhמm), with art. and pref. הַקֳּדָשִׁים, בַּקֳדָשִׁים Leviticus 22:4 לַקֳּדָשִׁים Nehemiah 10:34 but with suff. קָֽדָשַׁי Ezekiel 22:8 קָֽדָשָׁיו 2 Chronicles 15:18 (comp. Ewald, Gramm. Crit., p. 335), and קֳדָשָׁיו Numbers 5:10, m.
(1) holiness, Psalms 60:8, 89:36 Amos 4:2. Often added to another noun in the gen. instead of an adj., as שֵׁם קָדְשִׁי my holy name, Leviticus 20:3, 22:2 הַר קָדְשִׁי Psalms 2:6; Isaiah 11:9 שֶׁמֶן קָדְשִׁי Psalms 89:21 בִּגְדֵי קֹדֶשׁ holy garments, Exodus 28:2, Exodus 28:4רוּחַ קָדְשְׁךָ thy holy Spirit, Psalms 51:13 אַבְנֵי קֹדֶשׁ Lamentations 4:1, holy gems, an image of the nobles of the people, with an allusion to the breast-plate of the high priest.

Leviticus 12:4, 21:6, וְהָיוּ קֹדֶשׁ “and let (the priests) be holy,” Jeremiah 2:3 a thing consecrated to God, especially in pl. הַקֳּדשִׁים Leviticus 21:22, 22:2, Leviticus 22:3, 15 Leviticus 22:15. בֶּסֶף הַקֳּדָשִׁים silver consecrated in the temple, 1 Chronicles 26:20.
(3) a sanctuary; used of the holy tabernacle, Exodus 28:43, 29:30 35:19 39:1 and the temple, Psalms 20:3; Daniel 8:14 specially of the body of the temple, elsewhere called הֵיכָל 1 Kings 8:8; 2 Chronicles 29:7 once used of the innermost part, for קֹדֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁים Ezekiel 41:23.
קֹדֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁים
(a) a most holy thing, as the ark, the holy vessels, sacred oblations, etc., Exodus 29:37. Plur. קָדְשֵׁי הַקֳּדָשִׁים id., Leviticus 21:22; 2 Chronicles 31:14; Ezekiel 42:13, 44:13.
(b) the innermost part of the temple, i.q. דְּבִיר Exodus 26:33, 34 Exodus 26:34 fully בֵּית קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים 2 Chronicles 3:8, 10 2 Chronicles 3:10.
