 [מָּעַם] verb thrust, impel (probably originally strike, hit, see derivatives, and Phoenician פעם foot); —

Qal Infinitive construct suffix לְפַעֲמוֺ Judges 13:25 the spirit of ׳י began to impel him.

Niph`al be distrurbed, Perfect 1 singular נִפְעַמְתִּי Psalm 77:5; Imperfect 3 feminine singular וַתִּמָּ֫עֶם רוּחוֺ Genesis 41:8; Daniel 2:3; so

Hithpa`el Imperfect 3 feminine singular וַתִּתְמָּ֫עֶם רוּחוֺ Daniel 2:1.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

פָּעַם

(1)  to strike, to beat, whence פַּעַם an anvil, and פַּעֲמוֹן bell, also to strike with the foot, to tread, whence פַּעַם a step, a foot.

(2) Metaph. to impel, to urge any one (used of the Spirit of God), Judges 13:25.

Niphal, to be agitated, disturbed, Genesis 41:8; Daniel 2:3; Psalms 77:5.

Hithpael, id. Daniel 2:1.

Derivatives, the two nouns immediately following.
