Qal Participle אֲנָשִׁים רֵיקִים וּפֹחֲזִים Judges 9:4; of prophets Zephaniah 3:4 extravagant ("" אַנְשֵׁי בֹּגְדוֺת).
פָּחַז to leap, to bound (like the Ch.), prop. used of boiling water (compare פַּחַז Genesis 49:4). Hence
(1) to be lascivious, wanton, light [ Judges 9:4 ], (like the Syr. ܦܚܶܙ, compare Gr. ζέω).
(2) to be proud, to be vainglorious (like the Arab. فخز, compare זִיד). Part. פּוֹחֲזִים used of false prophets, Zephaniah 3:4.
[Hence the following words.]
