מֶרְחָק (from the root רָחַק); pl. מֶרְחַקִּים and מַרְחַקִּים Isaiah 33:17; Jeremiah 8:19, m. far distance, what is far off, a place far off; מִמֶּרְחָק from afar, after verbs of coming, Isaiah 10:3, 30:27 but 17:13, נָס מִמֶּרְחָק “he fled from afar off,” i.e. to flee away far, and already to look from a great distance; אֶרֶץ מֶרְחָק a remote land, Isaiah 13:5 pl. מַרְחַקִּים Zechariah 10:9 אֶרֶץ מֶרְחַקִּים Isaiah 33:17; Jeremiah 8:19 מֶרְחַקֵּי־אֶרֶץ Isaiah 8:9, remote countries.
