חֲלַח [Halah] pr.n. of a province of Assyria, whither a portion of the ten tribes were taken by Shalmanezer; it is probably Calachene (Καλαχηνή, Strab. xvi. 1; Καλακινὴ, Ptol. vi. 1), the northern province of Assyria, on the confines of Armenia, 2 Kings 17:6, 18:11. Compare בֶּלַח.
