Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

חוֹבָה (“a hiding place”), [Hobah], pr.n. of a town to the north of Damascus; once Genesis 14:15 compare Χωβά, Jdt_4:4 15:4. Eusebius in his Onomasticon confounds this town with Cocaba, the seat of the Ebionites; see my note to Burckhardt’s Travels, ii. p. 1054.
