Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

זָרַר an unused root, i.q. Arab. زَرَّ to bind together, as with buckles, to buckle; a kindred root to זוּר No. I, also צָרַר, צוּר. Hence the nouns זֵר, זַרְזִיר. In Chaldee there occurs זְרַו to bind, originating in the quadril. זרזר.

II.

זָרַר prop. to scatter; like the Arab. ذَرَّ: kindred roots זָרָה, זָרַע, זָרַק. Hence

Poel זוֹרֵר to sneeze, in doing which the particles of mucus are scattered from the nostrils, 2 Kings 4:35. Comp. Ch. זְרֵיר sneezing; see Schult. ad Job 41:10.
