Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
אוּפָז Uphaz, pr.n. of a region producing gold, Jeremiah 10:9; Daniel 10:5. As the letters ר and ז are also elsewhere interchanged (as in בָּזָק and בָּרָק lightning, فخر and فخز to boast, to glory), אוּפָז seems to be corrupted from אוֹפִיר.
