Brown-Driver-Briggs Expanded Definition

וַשְׁנִי according to ᵑ0 apparently proper name, masculine son of Samuel, only הַבְּכֹר וַשְׁנִי וַאֲבִיָּה 1 Chronicles 6:13, but read הַבְּכֹר יוֺאֵל וְהַשֵּׁנִי אביה compare ᵐ5^L, and "" 1 Samuel 8:2; see Th^Sm Be^Ch Dr^Sm and others

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

וַשְׁנִי [Vashni], pr.n. m. 1 Chronicles 6:13, apparently a corrupt form; for verse 18 1 Chronicles 6:18, and 1 Samuel 8:2, for the same there is יוֹאֵל. [“Probably this should be הַשֵּׁנִי. The whole passage is, הַבְּכוֹר יוֹאֵל הַשֵּׁנִי אֲבִיָּה; see Mover’s Chron. p. 54.” Ges. add.]
