הֻיְּדוֹת pl. f. Nehemiah 12:8, praises, songs, compare Nehemiah 11:17. This word is derived from הוֹדָה [Hiph. of יָדָה], to praise, of the same signification as תּוֹדוֹת. There does not, however, occur any other word corresponding to this in form. [“Compare also Nehemiah 11:17, where in a like context is תּוֹדוֹת.”]
