Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
בִּתְרוֹן m. a region divided by mountains and valleys, or a valley which divides mountains, κοίλωμα, Bergfchlucht, ῥαγάς from ῥηγνύω. 2 Samuel 2:29. Others suppose this to have been the pr.n. of some particular region; but this would make but little difference, for the pr.n. would be taken from the nature of the place. [Root בָּתַר.]
