(1) to strike, to beat, whence פַּעַם an anvil, and פַּעֲמוֹן bell, also to strike with the foot, to tread, whence פַּעַם a step, a foot.
(2) Metaph. to impel, to urge any one (used of the Spirit of God), Judges 13:25.
