ἄσοφος occurs in P Ryl II. 62.12 (iii/A.D.), a translation of an unknown Latin literary work : δύναμαι χαρίσασθαι καὶ πένητι [πλοῦ ]τ ̣ον καὶ ἄσοφον ἀρετῆς στεφανῶσαι —";unskilled in wisdom,"; unless we should drop one ς and read ἀρετῃ ";crown with virtue.";
