In P Goodsp Cairo 2i. 4 (ii/A.D.) we have a medical fragment containing a warning against τῶν ὡραίων, ";ripe fruits,"; where the editor notes the generally colourless character of ὡραῖος, and cites Athenaeus Deipnosophistae 116E ὡραῖα sc. ταρίχη, meaning fish ";pickled in the season."; For the derived meaning ";in the bloom of youth,"; ";beautiful,"; cf. the magic P Lond 125 verso 13 (v/A.D.) For the adj. ὥριμος, see P Tebt I. 54.6 (B.C. 86) κλήρου ἀρου (ρῶν) ι ̄ . . ὡρίμου σπαρῆναι, ";the holding of 10 arourae ready for sowing.";
