We may note P Oxy IV. 742.13 (B.C. 2) (as amended Berichtigungen p. 328) ὅ ]ρ ̣α ἐμ ̣ὲ ἠγορακέναι πα ̣ρ [ὰ Πόθο ]υ τὴν χιλίαν δέσμην (δραχμῶν) δ ̣[εκάπ ]ε ̣ν ̣τ ̣ε, ";see I have bought from Pothus the thousand bundles for fifteen drachmae."; But Witkowski (Epp.2 P. 12.8) understands τὴν χιλίαν δέσμην = ἑκάστην τὴν χιλιάδα δεσμῶν, as meaning ‘at fifteen drachmae for a bundle of a thousand.";
