Vocabulary of the Greek NT

φιλοσοφία occurs in the NT only in Col. 2:8, where it is not ";philosophy"; in general that is condemned, but the particular system (note the art.), associated as it was with κενὴ ἀπάτη : see Hort Judaistic Christianity, p. 119. For the word in its direct application to mode of life, cf. Musonius p. 10.7 ἐπιστήμη δὲ περὶ βίον οὐχ ἑτέρα τις ἡ φιλοσοφία ἐστι
