For this rare NT word (Luke 6:38) Herwerden refers to the Byzantine Theophyl. Sim. p. 48, 25 (I. 5, 5) . ἀμοιβὴν ἀξίαν τοῖς βεβιωμένοις. Grimm cites Lucian, Amor. 19, which is stronger evidence for its ";profaneness.";
