συνάντησις, συναντησεως, ἡ, a meeting with (Euripides, Ion 535; Dionysius Halicarnassus, Antiquities 4, 66): εἰς συνάντησιν τίνι, to meet one (Buttmann, § 146, 3), Matthew 8:34 R G (for לִקְרַאת, Genesis 14:17; Genesis 30:16; Exodus 4:27; Exodus 18:7).

(= II. p. 101) σχίσον ἰς δύο, ib. vii. 1 (p. 103) σχισθήσεται, and Preisigke 1.20 (iii/A.D.) μιᾶς μέντοι κίσ [της εὑρε ]θείης ἐ [σχι ]σμένης. The compd. ὑποσχίζω = ";plough"; is found in P Lond 1170 verso.305 (A.D. 258–9) (= III. p. 200), and ὑποσχισμός = ";ploughing"; in P Fay 112.3 (A.D. 99) τοὺς ὑποσχ [ει ]σμοὺς καὶ διβολήτρους τῶν ἐλαιώνο (= ω)ν, ";the ploughing up and hoeing of the olive-yards"; (Edd.).
