συγκύπτω,
bend forwards, stoop and lay heads together, παιδάρια συγκύψανθ' ἅμα βληχᾶται Ar. V. 570; ς. πρὸς ἀλλήλας, of mares, Arist. HA 572a23: metaph., οἱ κακοῦντες τὰ κοινὰ συγκύψαντες ποιεῦσι they do it in concert, Hdt. 3.82, cf. 7.145; καὶ συγκύψαντες ἅπαντες γελῶσιν Phryn.Com. 3.6; τοῦτο δ' εἰς ἕν ἐστι συγκεκυφός Ar. Eq. 854 .
2. draw together, ἢν συγκύπτῃ τὰ κέρατα τοῦ πλαισίου X. An. 3.4.19, cf. 21 .
II to be bowed down, bent double, as under a burden, Ev.Luke 13:11, Philostr. Im. 2.20; συγκεκῡφώς Them. Or. 7.90b; ς. τῷ προσώπῳ LXX Job 9:27; μελανίᾳ ib. Si. 19.26 .
