I as Adv. not yet, Od. 22.431, etc.; ἀλλὰ μήπω τοῦτο (sc. σκοπεῖτε) D. 21.90: in expostulation, μή τώ τι μεθίετε Il. 4.234, 17.422, etc.; μήπω γε nay, not yet, A. Pr. 631: folld. by πρίν, Il. 18.134, S. Ph. 961, 1409 (anap.): c. opt. precantis, μήπω μανείη E. Hec. 1278; μήπω νοῦ τοσόνδ' εἴην κενή S. El. 403.
II as Conj., lest yet, κελόμην ἐπιβαινέμεν.., μή πώ τις.. λάθηται Od. 9.102 (v. l.).
μήπω (or μή πω, L Tr in Romans 9:11) (μή and πω) (from Homer down), adverb;
1. not yet: in construction with the accusative and infinitive, Hebrews 9:8; with a ptcp, μήπω γάρ γεννηθέντων, though they were not yet born, Romans 9:11, where compare Fritzsche.
