To the exx. usually cited for this NT ἅπ. εἰρ. (James 2:15) add Vett. Val. p. 62.17 ἀτυχεῖς καὶ ἀσχήμονας ποιοῦσι καὶ ἐνδεεῖς τῆς ἐφημέρου τροφῆς. The phrase implies ";food for the day"; or ";the day’s supply of food"; rather than ";daily food"; : cf. Field Notes, p. 236 f.
