(edited by Foës., i. 197, Kühn edition); in Biblical and ecclesiastical lang. compassionate, tender-hearted: Ephesians 4:32; 1 Peter 3:8; prec. Manass. 7 ((see the Sept., Tdf. edition, Proleg. § 29); Test xii. Patr. test. Zab. § 9; cf. Harnack's note on Hermas, vis. 1, 2 [ET]).
