Vocabulary of the Greek NT

The Greek translation of a will originally written in Latin is headed—Ἑρμηνί ]α διαθήκης (BGU I. 326i. 1—ii/A.D.). Attached to it is—Ἑρμηνία κωδικίλλων διπτύχων (ib. ii. 15). Cf. P Oxy XII. 1466.3 (A.D. 245) and P Thead 13ii. 1 (A.D. 322 or 323), and see P Fay 23.11 (ii/A.D.) for an ἐπιτ (ηρητὴς) ἑρμηνίας. Vett. Val. p. 4.5 < > δὲ τοῦ Ἑρμοῦ σημαίνει παιδείαν, γράμματα, ἔλεγχον, λόγον, ἀδελφότητα, ἑρμηνείαν, κηρυκείαν κτλ. In the MGr Velvendos dialect ὁρμήνεια = ";counsel,"; ";advice.";
