ἐκδοχή is used = ";interpretation"; in P Par 63.86 (B.C. 164) (= P Petr III. P. 24) παιδαριώδη τὴν τοῦ προστάγματος ἐ ̣γδοκὴν ποιησαμένους, ";after having made the interpretation of the decree puerile,"; Syll 256.18 (c. B.C. 200) τὴν ἐκδοχὴν τοῦ χρησμοῦ ταύτην λαβόντες. We have no light to throw upon the use of ἐ. = προσδοκία in Hebrews 10:27, the only place where it occurs in the NT, but see s.v. ἐκδέχομαι and cf. Field Notes, p. 231. For the title ἐκδοχεύς see OGIS 140.8 with the editor’s note.
