It is used of ";issue,"; ";result,"; in BGU IV. 1206.9 (B.C. 28) οὔπωι σεσήμαγκε τί ἐκβέβη [κ ]ε ̣, ib. III. 717.22 (A.D. 149) οἷα ἐὰν ἐκβῇ ἐκ τῆς χρείας, P Ryl II. 233.2 (ii/A.D.) ὅταν δὲ ἐπ᾽ ἀγαθῷ ἐκβῶμεν, and in P Tebt II. 309.14 (A.D. 116–7) = ";abandon,"; ";give up,"; βούλομαι ἑκουσίως. . . ἐγβεβηκέναι τῆς. . . [γεωργείας τῶ ]ν ̣ . . [σι ]τικῶν ἐδ [α ]φῶν. For the meaning ";produce,"; ";yield,"; see P Fay 122.15 (c. A.D. 100) δήλωσόν μοι πόσαι (sc. ἀρτάβαι) ἐξέβησ [αν, P Lips I. 23.20 (iv/A.D.) π [αρ ]έξω σοι τὴν ἡμί [σια ]ν πάντω [ν ] τῶν ἐκβησομένων καρπῶν, and cf. Other miscellaneous exx. are P Ryl II. 154.29 (A.D. 66) τὰ παράφερνα οἷα ἐὰν ἐκ τῆς τρίψεως ἐγβῆι, ";the parapherna as they emerge from wear and tear"; (Edd.), and BGU I. 183.8 (A.D. 85) ἐάν ἐγβ [ῇ ἀποδότ ]ω ὁ ὁμο [λ ]ογῶ [ν Ὧ ]ρος τῇ Ἐριέᾳ τὴν φέρνην, where provision is made that if Horus ";fails"; in certain duties, he is to repay his wife’s dowry. In MGr the verb assumes the form βγαίνω.
