In P Flor III. 382i. 3 (A.D. 222–3) exemption from public services is granted τοῖς ἑ [β ]δ ̣ο ̣μ ̣η ̣κ ̣ο ̣ντα ἔτη β ̣ε ̣β ̣ι ̣ω ̣κόσι, an equivalent to our old-age pensions : cf. ib.ii. 55 ἐ ]γὼ κατὰ τὰς προκειμένας θείας διατάξεις ἤδη ὑπὲρ ἑβδο ̣μήκοντα [ἔτ ]η βεβιωκὼς καὶ αὐτὸς τῆς ἀναπαύσεως ̣ δ ̣ιά σου τοῦ κυρίου τ ̣υχεῖν ̣ . . .
