This subst., for which Grimm cites only Philo, can now be freely authenticated—e.g. P Oxy IV. 707.24 (c. A.D. 136) τῇ δὲ λοιπῇ διετίᾳ τελέσαι τὰ διὰ τῆς μισθώσεως ὑπὲρ φόρου ἀνειλημμένα, ";that for the remaining two years he should pay the rent set forth in the lease"; (Edd.), ib. VI. 910.51 (A.D. 197) τῆς μὲν ἐν π [υ ]ρῷ διετίας, BGU I. 180.7 (ii/iii AD.) μ [ε ]τὰ διετίαν τῆς [ἀπο ]λύσεως, P Strass I. 2.10 (A.D. 217) τὴ ]ν λοιπὴ [ν δι ]ετίαν, and from the inscrr. Syll 805.4 (? i/A.D.) ἐκ διετίας βήσσοντά με ἀδ [ιαλεί ]πτως, OGIS 485.12 (Roman) γενόμενον δὲ καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν ἐπιπηγῶν διετίαν. The word δεκαετία is found P Strass I. 22.23 (iii/A.D.).
