French financier; born at Paris Aug. 22, 1859. Educated in his native city, he graduated from the Law Faculty and was admitted to the bar in 1882. In 1885 he entered the Banque des Fonds Publics etValeurs Industrielles, managed by his father, whom he succeeded as chief on the latter's death.
Since 1888 he has edited with his brother Charles the "Cote de la Bourse et de la Banque," for which paper he wrote many editorials. He is recognized as one of the leading French authorities on financial law.
