Schlesinger, Ludwig

Hungarian mathematician; born at Tyrnau (Nagyszombat) Nov. 1, 1864; educated at the Realschule, Presburg, and at the universities of Heidelberg and Berlin (Ph. D. 1887). In 1889 he became privat-docent at the University of Berlin; in 1897, assistant professor at the University of Bonn; and since 1902 he has been professor of mathematics at the University of Klausenburg.
Schlesinger has written essays for the scientific periodicals and journals, and he is the author of "Handbuch der Theorie der Linearen Differentialgleichungen," Leipsic, 1895-98, and "Einführung in die Theorie der Differentialgleichungen," ib. 1900.
