French liturgical poet; lived at Carpentras in the second half of the seventeenth century. The ritual of Avignon contains a piyyuṭ which he composed upon the deliverance of the Jews of Carpentras from the riot that broke out on the 9th of Nisan, 1682, and which begins with the words "Shebaḥ yeḳar u-gedullah." He probably was a son of the liturgical poet JOSEPH BEN ABRAHAM, who copied "Sefer Orḥot Ḥayyim," an extract, extant in manuscript at the library of Avignon, of Joseph Caro's "Bet Yosef."
