Hungarian deputy; born at Kis-Czell Sept. 12, 1856; educated at Steinamanger and Raab, later studying law at Budapest (LL.D. 1877), where he was admitted to the bar in 1880. Recognized, even before his graduation, as an authority on maritime law, he was elected a member of the board of directors of the Adria Steamship Company, contributing much in this position to the industrial development of the country. In 1892 he was returned by the district of Német-Ujváar to the Hungarian Parliament, where, both as a member and as secretary of the committee on political economy, he took an active part in framing the laws which were drafted by that committee, besides reporting on commercial treaties with foreign nations.

Rosenberg fought a duel with Count Stephan Batthyanyi in 1885 and killed his opponent. His wife is a daughter of Consul Don Teixeira de Mattos.
