German prima donna born at Munich July 15, 1853 died at Triest June 2, 1883 daughter of the baritone August Kindermann. She received her early instruction on the piano from her mother, and at the age of fifteen entered the Musikschule of Munich, where she studied voice-culture under her father. She made her début at the Hoftheater of Munich as a chorus-singer, ballet-dancer, and actress, and after a season at Carlsruhe appeared at the opera in Munich and in the operetta company at the Gärtnerplatz. She was married to the actor Emanuel Reicher in 1875, and was divorced in 1881. After acting in Bayreuth in 1876, at Hamburg in 1877,1878, and at Vienna, Munich, Monaco, and Paris, she was called to Leipsic in 1880, where she became known as an interpreter of Wagner's heroines, appearing in "Der Ring des Nibelungen" in Germany, Belgium, Italy, and London (1881-82) under the direction of Angelo Neumann.
