Reeve, Ada
The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia
English actress: born in London about 1870. Her parents were themselves connected with the dramatic profession, her father being for many years a member of stock companies which included Toole and Irving among their members. She first appeared as a child of six in a pantomime at the Pavilion Theatre, Mile End, London. Passing to melodrama, she played as a child the characters of servant-girls and even old women. She then toured with Fannie Leslie in "Jack in the Box," and at twelve appeared as a serio-comic singer. Later she scored a great success with a song entitled "What Do I Care!" and in 1895 appeared at the Criterion in "All Abroad" and afterward in the"Gay Parisienne" at the Duke of York's, London. In 1899 she took a leading part in "Florodora" at the Lyric Theatre, London, and appeared later at Daly's Theatre in "San Toy."
