Hungarian writer; born at Szent Miklos, Liptau, March 16, 1841; died at Baja July 25, 1901. He studied at Baja and Berlin, and in 1866 was chosen preacher in the latter city, but was forced to resign on account of repeated attacks of insanity. Thenceforth he lived in retirement at Baja.

Nascher's works include: "Ueber Jüdische Kanzelexegese," in "Ben Chananja," 1860; "Worte des Dankes" (Baja, 1860), sermon; "Unsere Richtung, Glauben Ist Denken" (Berlin, 1860); "Der Gaon Haja: Zur Gesch. der Semitischen Sprachforschung" (ib. 1867); "Die Sentenz bei Juden und Arabern" (ib. 1868); "Einfluss der Deutschen Philosophie auf die Volksbildung" (ib. 1872); "Wissenschaftliche Vorträge über Kunst und Philosophie" (ib. 1875); "Das Judenthum der Aufklärung: Reden für die Gebildeten Aller Confessionen" (Magdeburg, 1876); "Auswahl von Gedichten: Nach dem Ungarischen Texte des Dichters Revitzky Gyula in Metrischer Deutscher Uebertragung" (Budapest and Leipsic, 1876); "Franz Deák" (Berlin, 1877); "Die Jüdische Gemeinde in Ihrer Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft" (ib. 1877); "Moses Naschér: Eine Exegetische Monographie" (ib. 1879).
