Talmudical scholar of Smyrna; died in 1810. He was the author of the following works: "Sefer Shorashe ha-Yam," commentary on the Yad ha-Ḥazaḳah (3 vols., Salonica, 1806-15); "Darke ha-Yam," containing homilies and funeral sermons (ib. 1813); "Sefat ha-Yam," halakic decisions and responsa (ib. 1818); "Pe'at ha-Yam," a commentary on Beẓah, with a number of halakic rules appended (ib. 1832).
