Town in the district of Bialy, near Brest-Litovsk, Russia. Though in 1566 there was no Jew among its 400 house-owners, its customs revenues were farmed out to Jews. In 1589 the customs and mills were leased to the Jews Leibka, Wolfovich, and Itzka. According to Samuel ben Phoebus ("Ṭiṭ ha-Yawen") 200 Jews were killed in Lomazy during the Cossack uprising (1648-49). In 1897 the Jews of Lomazy numbered 1,100 in a total population of 3,200.
