Teacher in Rechnitz, Hungary, in the first half of the nineteenth century. In the preface of his "Oẓar ha-Ḥayyim" (Prague, 1832) he states that, incapacitated by sickness after many years of teaching, he embodied the results of his experience in that book. The first and third parts give methods of teaching in Jewish schools and suggest a curriculum; they are written in German with Hebrew characters; the second part contains the 613 commandments in Hebrew and German.
