German writer; born at Breslau Sept. 13, 1754; continued to live in that city. On being baptized (1804) he took the name of "Christian Moritz." He published the following works: "Das Schach," Breslau, 1784; "Kampf der Jüdischen Hierarchie," ib. 1789; "Jüdische Intoleranz und Fanatismus in Breslau," ib. 1789; "Patriotische Bemerkungen," ib. 1790; "Ueber die Allzufrühen Ehen der Jüdischen Nation," 1790; "Ueber das Schachspiel," etc., 1791; "Apologie der Menschenrechte," Zurich, 1793; "Biographie des Jüdischen Gelehrten und Dichters Ephraim Moses Kuh," Zurich, 1791.
