Turkish Talmudist and translator of the middle of the sixteenth century. He translated Baḥya's "Ḥobot ha-Lebabot" into Judæo-Spanish (Ladino) under the title "Obligacion de los Coraçones." It was published the first time in Roman characters by David Pardo (Amsterdam, 1610), who represented that he was himself the translator. Fürst ("Bibl. Jud." 1:78, 3:67) attributes the translation to Joseph Pardo, rabbi of Amsterdam. There also exists an edition in Hebrew characters (Venice, 1713). Formon is quoted in the responsa of his contemporary Solomon Cohen (, No. 118).
