German physician; born March 30, 1827, at Breslau; died there June 16, 1864. He was educated at the gymnasium and at the university of his native town, and was graduated as doctor of medicine Aug. 20, 1855. Establishing himself as a physician in Breslau in that year, he became assistant at the University Hospital under Frerichs from 1854 to 1861, and privat-docent at the university in 1856. In 1861 he was appointed chief physician at the Allerheiligen Hospital.

Cohen was the author of "Klinik der Embolischen Gefässkrankheiten," Breslau, 1862, which received a Montyon prize from the Académie des Sciences, Paris.
