English journalist; daughter of Sassoon D. Sassoon. She was educated privately and spent two years in hospital training. SinceOct., 1893, she has managed and edited the "Sunday Times," of which she is proprietress. Mrs. Beer is a member of the Institute of Journalists, and also of the Institute of Women Journalists. She has composed and published some piano and instrumental music. She married Frederick Arthur Beer, editor of the "Observer," London.
