Geshon
Kitto's Popular Cyclopedia of Biblical Literature

Ge´shon (same as Gershom), eldest son of the patriarch Levi, born in Canaan before the going down into Egypt. He is only known from his name having been given to one of the three great branches of the Levitical tribe. The office of the Gershonites, during the marches in the wilderness, was to carry the veils and curtains of the tabernacle, and their place in the camp was west of the tabernacle (;; ).
