Adad-Rimmon

Adad-Rim´mon, properly Hadad-Rimmon (A garden of pomegranates), a city in the valley of Jezreel, where was fought the famous battle between King Josiah and Pharaoh-Necho (2 Kings 23:29; Zechariah 12:11). Adad-rimmon was afterwards called Maximianopolis, in honor of the emperor Maximian. It was seventeen Roman miles from Caesarea, and ten miles from Jezreel.
