"PAUL EMILE FRANCOIS LECOQ DE BOISBAUDRAN (1838-1912), French chemist, was born at Cognac in 1838. He was the discoverer of gallium in 1875 and a student of spectroscopics generally, on which he wrote several treatises. Some details as to his work appear in 5.761; 6.46; 8.208; .11.421, 777. He died in Paris May 31 1912.
