KORBAY, FRANCIS (1846-1913), Hungarian musician, was born at Budapest in 1846. He was a godson of Liszt, of whose music he became a well-known interpreter. He had many successful European tours, and was also extremely popular in England. Korbay wrote many pianoforte pieces and songs, but he is best known by his collections of Magyar folk-songs, which have attained a very wide popularity.
