Sometimes written Potentiana. Virgin, martyred c160 She is said to have been the daughter of the Roman senator, Saint Pudens, and, with her sister, Saint Praxedes, died for the Faith. Pope Paschal I had her remains placed in the church of Saint Praxedes. The church of Saint Pudentiana, probably the oldest in Rome, is supposed to have been built on the site of her dwelling-place. Relics in churches of Saints Pudentiana and Praxedes. Feast, May 19,.
