Moral theologian, born Mailleroncourt, France, 1801; died Mercoour, 1866. His compendium of moral theology and his cases of conscience, based on Busenbaum and Saint Alphonsus, have been repeatedly reprinted and adapted, and have contributed largely to the extirpation of Jansenism.
