Writer, born Brooklyn, New York, 1850; died Rome, Italy, 1909. Adopting journalism as a profession, he was associated with the "New York Evening Post," and wrote several novels and plays. He became a Catholic in 1896, and both in New York and Rome devoted himself to the welfare of children.
