(Latin: intingere, to dip; panis, bread)
A practise in the early Church of dipping the Consecrated Host in the Precious Blood, in order to communicate by receiving both Sacred Species. It was forbidden in the 7th century and again in the 11th, though permitted for the communion of children and the sick. It ceased finally in the 13th century.
